The main ingredient of Capsule MAX BONE-D is Manjistha (rubia cordifolia). The roots of Rubia cordifolia are also the source of a medicine used in Ayurveda; this is commonly known in Ayurvedic Sanskrit as Manjistha (or Manjista or Manjishta) and the commercial product in Hindi as Manjith. Rubia cordifolia (Rubiaceae) is also known as, Manjishtha, Indian madder known to contain substantial amounts of anthraquinones, especially in the roots which is responsible for anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, urinary disorders, antistress antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, radio protective, and anticancer, antimicrobial, antifungal, hypotensive, analgesic, antimalarial, antioxidant, antileukemic and mutagenic functions, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. The plant contains substantial amounts of anthraquinones, triterpenoids especially in the roots, which is responsible for most of its pharmacological activity. In present study the chloroform fraction from methanolic extract of roots of R. cordifolia were evaluated for its biological effect and compared with the parent extract and remaining fraction, where chloroform fraction showed potent protective action for stress induced complications in mice.

    Contraindications :

  • Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia)

    Manjistha is a branched climber that has bristles. The stem is slender and four angled. The flowers are very small, greenish white and arranged in a branched cluster. The fruit is round and fleshy. It grows up to 1.5m in height and has perennial leaves. The roots have brownish red bark and is used to produce red dye. The parts of the herb that are beneficial to us are stems and roots.

    ABSTRACT

    In ayurvedic medicine, Manjistha is a blood purifying herb. It cools and detoxifies the blood, removes stagnant blood and dissolves obstructions in the blood flow. Manjistha also helps protect gums from receding. It is also believed to have astringent and anti-oxidant properties.
